Who we are, what we do

We are Social Audio Description Collective. We produce high-quality, presentation-ready audio description for projects of all kinds, and we bring a uniquely diverse team to the task.

For anyone unfamiliar, Audio Description (AD) is an optional narration that accompanies a movie or show, typically as a streaming option or by way of a personal electronic device in a theater, and is recited during lulls in the dialog and between other sounds to make a film more accessible to blind and low-vision audience members.

Being helpful also to anybody playing a video while cooking, exercising or doing anything that takes eyes away from the screen sometimes, the uses and users of AD are ever increasing, particularly with increasing availability as a streaming option.

Our AD like our collective is inclusive, expressing and reflecting the multi-cultural and multi-racial world we live in. Many of us are BIPOC, Blind, Disabled, women, and/or LGBT+. AD we’ve produced has provided access to music videos, trailers and commercials, full length films and still other projects. Read our mission and values.

What clients say.

We were very impressed by the quality of the work produced and the collaborative approach taken by SADC to make sure the script and voice work met the needs of our project. Thank you, SADC, for your help!

It was truly a pleasure working with your team, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcomes!
