The Social Audio Description Collective described three films for the 2022 Superfest Disability Film Festival, which screened both virtually and in person in October:
Êxtase (Ecstasy) by Moara Passoni, a feature length Brazilian film in Portuguese, AD written by Cheryl Green, script QC by Nefertiti Matos Olivares, audio edited by Kensuke Nakamura. Narrated by non-collective member Maria Hendricks.
Here/Not Here by Artemisia Films, a 29 minute experimental British film in English and British Sign Language, written by and audio edited by Kensuke Nakamura, script QC by Robert Kingett, and narrated by Dwight Brady.
Charlie by the Sea by Charlie Ekomiak, a five-minute experimental Inuk film from Nunavik in English and Inuktitut, written by Robert Kingett, script QC and audio edited by Cheryl Green. Narrated by non-collective member Teddy Hendricks.
We recruited additional voices to read the subtitled remarks by foreign language-speakers in these films.
