Who we are, what we do
We are Social Audio Description Collective. We produce high-quality, presentation-ready audio description for projects of all kinds, and we bring a uniquely diverse team to the task.
For anyone unfamiliar, Audio Description (AD) is an optional narration that accompanies a movie or show, which is often nowadays encountered as a language option on a streaming device, and describes on-screen or on-stage visual elements of the presentation for Blind and low-vision audience members during lulls in the dialog and other quiet moments.
The widening availability of AD has widened also the number of users to include essentially anyone who would like to listen, but not to fix their eyes continuously on a show while they exercise, cook or rake the leaves, for instance.
The AD we produce is inclusive like our collective, acknowledging the multi-cultural and multi-racial character of the world. Many of us are BIPOC, Blind, Disabled, women, and/or LGBT+. AD we’ve produced has provided access to music videos, trailers and commercials, full length films and still other projects.

What clients say.
EVERYTHING, including workflow on an extremely tight deadline, was flawless. So extremely happy with all aspects of the audio description – writing, delivery, cadence. Can’t wait to work with them again.
It was such a joy to work with you. The script, voice work, and sound quality were all exceptional, and your care and dedication were evident in each step of the process. Thank you for bringing audio descriptions to our community both in and out of the museum.
