SADC Teams Up with Easterseal’s Disability Film Challenge

For the third year in a row, SADC produced audio description for the Easterseal’s Disability Film Challenge (EDFC) finalists. Similar to all of the filmmakers participating in the film challenge, SADC produces the AD within a tight deadline. Despite only having 8 days to create audio description for up to 16 films, we make sure to employ our full process. That includes crafting precise descriptive scripts, narration and a level mix, all performed by qualified human professionals. And of course all scripts are reviewed by Blind Quality Control specialists.

Accessing the AD

EDFC is now able to upload a second track for each film. That means this year, there’s no separate upload for the films with audio description. Accessing the AD on YouTube is similar to other streaming platforms.

  1. After selecting the film to view, hit Pause
  2. Navigate to “Settings”
  3. Arrow down to the option titled Audio Track.
  4. Hit enter
  5. Select English Description from the list. Hit Enter
  6. Hit Play

You’re now watching with audio description!
