Cheryl quoted in New York Times talking AD for dance

Cheryl was interviewed in her capacity as a creative audio describer for dance for Siobhan Burke’s story in the New York Times, Hear the Dance: Audio Description Comes of Age.

The article centered on conversations with blind ballet dancer and dance instructor Krishna Washburn and featured video clips from Telephone by Washburn and Heather Shaw, DESCENT by Kinetic Light (which Cheryl wrote and narrated one AD track and also captioned), and The Circle or Prophetic Dream by Christopher Unpezverde Núñez.

From the article: “Telephone joins a wave of recent experiments in audio description for dance that approach it not just as an accessibility service but as a space for artistic exploration.”
